No one really outgrows toys. As we get older, our taste may change and our "toys" evolve into cars or tools or gadgets. But the fact remains, we love toys.
I never outgrew my passion for toys. As I became older and became a dad I became responsible for building them and repairing them for my kids or other children in the family.
My toys were model kits, RC Cars, action figures (my wife says I play with dolls and dubbed me as Dr. Dollmaker). They remind me of my childhood, but building or repairing them is my happy place.
Years ago I built a dollhouse for my daughter and realized that this isn't just a toy. It's art... it's an heirloom. The build itself is a family activity. The finished product sparked my idea to create these works of art for others.
A friend of mine managed a Hobby Shop in New Jersey and he is an old pro at dollhouse builds, his tips helped me a lot. When people brought him old dollhouses that needed TLC, Id take them home to my workshop and bring them back to life.
These make-overs are part of what I do. I also build them from box kits.
If you're interested in a new dollhouse, finishing up one you started, or restoring a relic you rescued from Grandma's attic, I can help.
